Amar grew up in the northeast – one of the most ethnically diverse communities in Canada . Growing up in this community exposed Amar to Cannabis culture at the grassroots level. You walk past graffiti on your way to school, listen to a particular type of music, and have a diverse set of friends. While his family was thriving fitting new homes with hardwood, he spent most of his time with a basketball on the hardwood. In short, he was the first brown boy to get it poppin’.
After high school, he was fortunate to have a series of successful businesses. During the initial phases of legalization, it seemed like the companies in the sector were mainly driven by profits and disconnected from the product and the people in some way. He felt it was the right time to bet the bank and do justice to the product and the community. This is how the story of Northside began. Read more

Adrian has been professionally involved with Cannabis over the last 20 years. He started off as an average consumer but after suffering a life changing back injury, he was was prescribed Opioids to manage the pain.
Unfortunately, the effectiveness of these pills decreased over time and he had some unpleasant side effects – this is when he turned back to his old friend, Cannabis. This time, from a medical perspective. It was one of the best decisions he’s ever made, and now he is able to live and operate normally.

Anuraga never expected to end up in the cannabis industry, but with the news of cannabis legalization in Canada, her interest was piqued. She met the Northside team through a common acquaintance and has since greatly enjoyed her time working in the industry as well as the culture that surrounds it.
